Sandra Lynch

Sandy Lynch was classically trained on piano, attaining an ATCL Performers Diploma at age 16, before further developing her repertoire through jazz lessons. She has since learned many genres; from nostalgia to light jazz, easy listening (rock/pop), contemporary, movie/tv themes, show tunes, latin, and a light classical repertoire too.

Her career has involved many performing arts competitions, a rock 'n roll dance band, jazz duos, trios, quartets, and musical productions. From 1999, she produced and published her own piano books including Thumbs on C, All Keyed Up and numerous other solo piano sheets. In 2003, she recorded her CD containing all these pieces, Sandra Lynch – Piano Compositions. Also published Christmas Crackers! (traditional Christmas tunes) for piano which has been widely distributed in NZ.

Trinity Guildhall, London, have published ‘nDcvr Agnt’ in their current 2021-2023 piano exam book, which will remain current from 2024. Several other pieces have been chosen for their past piano exams.

Multiple pieces have been selected for the ANZCA (Australia New Zealand Cultural Arts) Examination Board Piano Syllabus since 2001 (Classical and Modern Stream).

Sandy was awarded a qualification in Orchestration for Film & TV through Berklee College of Music in 2013 with a GPA of 4 and was a recipient of The Berklee Music Online Celebrity Scholarship for Songwriting for Film & TV.

She lives in Auckland where she teaches all styles of piano as well as composing at every opportunity. She performs as cocktail pianist at various hotels and Westfield Newmarket. Other performances include the Auckland Investitures and private functions.
