The aim of the Readings, a collaborative project of SOUNZ and the NZSO, is to increase the performance of orchestral works by New Zealand composers. This will be the 12th session of Readings since 1998. Observers to these Readings sessions are welcome – contact us at SOUNZ if you would like to be included on the invitation list.
This session also includes the first performance of Symphony: The Islands by Jack Speirs. The work, left unfinished at his death, is being completed by Giliian Whitehead and part of the symphony will be played here.
