2008 NZSO/Todd Corporation Young Composer Awards

This will be the fourth annual NZSO/Todd Young Composer Awards with the orchestra once again conducted by Hamish McKeich .

Eleven young New Zealand composers will have their works rehearsed and recorded for CD by the NZSO. At the conclusion two Todd Corporation Prizes will be awarded. Ross Harris will mentor the composers in preparation for their work’s performance. Readings sessions are open to observers: contact Roger Smith NZSO Education Programme Manager or phone: 04 801 3831 for programme details. The composers will also have workshop sessions with percussionists Laurence Reese and Leonard Sakofsky and with Robert Weeks (bassoon).

CDs of the 2005, 2006 and 2007 NZSO-Todd Young Composers Awards are available through the SOUNZ Library to Library Members.
