Karl is a composer and music producer seeking opportunities to share skills, abilities and experience to contribute artistic support, logically intuitive synergy, intelligent creative syzygy.
His most recent album release 'Te Manu' was awarded Best Māori Pop Album at the 2014 Waiata Māori Awards, and has also had one of its tracks selected for a movie "Born to Dance" which also showcases the talents of Stan Walker and Parris Goebel.
Karl is musically versatile, fluent in many genres, (including five years of classical guitar and six years of classical cello) delivering artistically crafted music for individual audiences and media.
"My own original music could be described as 'Polynesian Fusion' from the Māori and Polynesian influence in feel, sound design, imagery and underlying concepts. A deep passion for my Polynesian heritage and its history is reflected in the due diligence I apply to this area of my research. I particularly enjoy drawing upon natural influences, stories and thought processes to compose music that recalls the Māori and Polynesian cosmological world view. Karl is a descendant from tribes of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, Ngāti Raina ki Tākitumu, Ngāti Pahauwera, Ngāti Hinemanu, Ngāti Poporo, Te Whānau a Ruataupare, Ngātiarua ki Mauke, Papeno'o i Tahitinui.
Karl also works in the field of education and has developed and delivered a program designed to teach basic neurology and brain behaviour that helps people identify and utilise the advanced centres of the human brain helping to unlock unlimited creativity.
He is also qualified to teach a two day workshop "Te Wheke' which is an ancient model of personal wellness described in the book "Te Wheke" by Dr. Rangimārie Tūruki Rose Pere.
Karl also creates digital art with a pacific flavour.
