Southern Stars Concert

Concert

The Southern Sinfonia, conducted by Marc Taddei, presents a programme celebrating the life, times and works of artist Frances Hodgkins. This concert, part of the Dunedin Heritage Festival 2009, includes the world premiere of a new work by Dunedin composer Anthony Ritchie (Mozart Fellow 1988-89).

The concert also includes a dramatic presentation by Rima Te Wiata of Frances Hodgkins life, with a script penned by Catherine Chidgey (Robert Burns Fellow 2005-2006). The first half features Deborah Wai Kapohe and "the City of Dunedin Choir":http://cityofdunedinchoir.org.nz performing arias and choruses from New Zealand, England and France, countries where Frances Hodgkins lived and worked.
