This tour by La Belle Alliance is in collaboration with the acclaimed New Zealand soprano, Rebecca Ryan. The violin/piano duo of Tessa Petersen and John Van Buskirk is well known to New Zealand audiences.
Their programme features a wide range of repertoire from traditional to contemporary. Both New Zealand works were written especially for La Belle Alliance. Anthony Ritchie’s Meditation for violin and piano in 2008 has charmed national and international audiences alike with its imaginative soundscape inspired by an ancient Chinese nature poem. The New Commission by Robbie Ellis (supported by Creative New Zealand) will receive its world premiere on this tour.
