The BIG SING Finale is a three-day festival of choral singing sponsored by the New Zealand Choral Federation. This year it features 23 choirs recommended by commentators from the hundreds which performed in regional festivals in June. This Gala Concert is the culmination of that Festival.
The choirs present repertoire from various genres and categories including New Zealand works. In addition, "SOUNZ supports a student composition prize":http://sounz.org.nz/content/BIG_SING . The 2008 winner is Arna Shaw from Christchurch Girls High School for her Laudate Dominum for SSAA choir a cappella.
