About

Exit Wound is a violent conflation of the L'Homme armé text and melody (on which the entire piece is based) and a text taken from forensic description of what happens to bullets when they hit human bodies. This is as macabre as a crucifixion, but purposefully so as Exit Wound is a work that attempts to embody human suffering in a contemporary context, emphasizing the cold science of technologically assisted violence in juxtaposition to the human outbursts of the L'homme armé text and a reflective setting of a fragment taken from Gryphius’ Es ist alles Eitel.
