About

Subsidence is based on the energy and characteristics of mass land movements - an earthquake for example - hence the heavy brass and percussion. It was written for the NZSO and Todd Foundation Young Composers Readings, where it was workshopped and recorded by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in Wellington, July 2005.
