About

This is the early piano version of my orchestral work Requiem for a Bird.

It has sombre undertones, making use of different scales and birdsong, bringing to mind the music of Oliver Messiaen.

It requires a small amount of improvisatory skill from the performer.

I gave the first performance of this solo version at the Canterbury University School of Music in 2006.
