About

This piece was composed in 1988 for the Centenary of the Oswestry Choral Society. It sets extracts from text by William Byrd, S.T. Coleridge and John Oldham.

The work was intended as a kind of 'antidote' to the more extended A Sympathy With Sounds with its rather grandiose sentiments relating to the art of music. It was given several performances by the Society at various concerts that year.
