Don’t Cry, Calvin is track eight on the album Encounters of the Beautiful Kind. Its full title is "Don’t Cry Calvin, For Soon The World Shall Be Yours". I wrote it for one of my dearest friends back in Seattle and her newborn baby, Calvin. It’s a lullaby for Calvin, full of love and affection both for this child I’d never met and for my friend and her husband. This was also a part of my processing being absent for such a momentous occasion in the life of someone I love so dearly.
