The Whampster Illusion is a co-composition of composer Sam Leamy and guitarist Jake Church. Stranded together in Nelson by adverse weather following July 2017’s CANZ Composers Workshop, the two spent this time devising a means by which electric instruments and acoustic instruments might achieve an “inextricably interwoven sound world” - dubbed ‘The Whampster’.
