About
This piece was inspired by an early version of a Taiwanese folk song called Si Xianɡ Qi (思想起) played on the Yueqin (月琴). The composer combined various performance techniques from Yueqin and Flamenco Guitar playing and imitated and combined the timbres of both styles. Furthermore, a key feature of the piece is a gradual shift from a noticeably pentatonic pitch class set to a Flamenco musical melody.
