About
This piece was inspired by a Taiwanese folk song called Tian Hei Hei (天黑黑). This song has an ironic, humorous touch and is about Taiwanese farmers’ hardship under Japanese rule. It conveys that even when life is not easy, we must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are all gifted at something and that we should do our best, no matter what the situation.
