for SATB choir and organ
About
This work, a setting of Psalm 100, was a finalist in the First Annual Sewanee Choral Composition Competition. The organ accompaniment ascending in triplets commences the song of praise. Broad homophonic calls to praise (“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!”) make room for motet-like, polyphonic passages in which the voices can shine briefly without the organ. A rewarding composition for a performance in worship or in concert.
