About

In this work, flute and taonga pūoro weave around one another, blending and inhabiting the same sound world. 'Tihei mauri ora' means to breathe life into something. So, fundamentally, the shared breath of both musicians innately connects them. As each performer imitates and takes on characteristics of the other, they both breathe life into the melodic line they share as it grows and develops to a natural climax.
