About

'Jasmine Flower' is perhaps the most well-known of Chinese traditional melodies. This arrangement of the tune for two violins, viola and cello is based upon an arrangement for erhu (or violin) and piano made in 2019 at the suggestion of Katia Tiutiunnik. This in turn was a shortened version of an earlier arrangement from 2017 for flute, bass flute, 2 erhus (or violins) and piano which was made to accompany a traditional Peking opera style dance delivered by Mdm. Chen Bei-bei and children of foreign faculty in a concert held at Sias International University, Xinzheng, Henan on 11 May 2017 prior to the start of the 11th Annual Women's Symposium hosted by the World Academy for the Future of Women and Sias University from May 12-14, 2017.

The initial arrangement was based upon a recording of a version of the tune for erhu soloist and orchestra kindly provided to me by Mdm. Chen.
