'Chatoyance', from the French 'oeil de chat', is a term used in jewellery. It is the effect of light moving across a gem; light shimmering like a cat's eye in the dark. Patches of light and dark shift and change position depending on the angle of view.
Commissioned for the 2019 Michael Hill International Violin Competition
