Impromptu à la Debussy is a 20th century-style freeform flute solo inspired by Debussy’s airy and liberated impressionistic style in pieces such as Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn and Syrinx. In the mode of Ab Lydian-Mixolydian, and engraved without barlines, the piece is to be performed molto rubato at the performer’s discretion and interpretation.
