How do we experience Music? As a 'mode of relaxation' as the layman has often claimed it to be? For a performer, music can be a 3 hour struggle in a battlefield where it seems the only goal is to survive the rehearsal. This piece, inspired by worrying and stressful times with a touring orchestra within the mercy of a harsh conductor, replicates the feelings of anxiety and frustration through the sounds of music and Viola performance, therefore making use of the idea of constantly being on a 'Knife's Edge'.
