About

This version of the traditional Chinese tune 'Jasmine Flower' for 2 flutes in C, alto flute in G and bass flute is based on a transcribed arrangement of the tune for 2 flutes, 2 erhu (or violins) and piano made to accompany a Peking Opera dance performed by Mdm. Chen Bei-bei and young performers from the International Faculty at the 11th Give Voice to Women Symposium held at Sias International University, Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, China on the 11th of May 2017. The performers on that occasion included Italian flutists Beatrice Petrocchi and Vilma Campitelli.

This arrangement for flute quartet is dedicated to Beatrice and Vilma and to their flute quartet, Quartetto Image, who gave the first performance of this arrangement on the 6th of July 2017 at Santa Maria di Portonovo, Ancona, Italy.
