About
Sounds from the Outside explores both stagnancy and movement. With reduced listening, the sounds of the surrounding world, and its abstract objects become the focus. The depth and textures of synthesised and organic instruments aim to create space to explore, envision and feel. In this limited track composition, each sound has its place in which even the voice is reminiscent of time long gone.
Sounds from the Outside was awarded 2nd place at the 2020 Lilburn Trust Composers Competition at the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī.
