Composer Woodshed is a new initiative from CMNZ to provide focussed research and development opportunities for composers.
The 2022 dates are Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April.
Up to three composers will be selected to spend three days workshopping their concepts with a string quartet, and in conversation with one another. This is a time to experiment and explore, for creative development, with no expectation of writing a piece.
Successful candidates will be selected based on the CONCEPT(S) they wish to explore, the VALUE the workshop could have for them and their process, and the CALIBRE of their portfolio.
The programme is aimed at early-career and emerging composers who have completed tertiary studies, though proposals from composers at all career stages will be considered.
Applications close at midnight on 31 January.
