About

Originally written while the composer was a student at Teachers’ Training College in Wellington, New Zealand in 1949 and performed at the Cambridge Music School in January 1950. The score has been revised in 2006.

The choral setting of Tennyson’s poem The Poet’s Song is framed between a short romantic sounding introduction and closing for the piano.
