Love’s Labour’s Never Lost is track six on the album Encounters of the Beautiful Kind. I wrote this piece while reflecting on friendships that have faded away or changed as life has progressed - including moving across the world from the US to New Zealand. The piece began in a place of mourning and sadness, but journeyed through to a realization that it’s never wrong to have loved...that love’s labor is never lost. We carry with us the blessing of having loved, and there’s a beautiful hope and sense of possibility one can find in establishing new connections.
